Mobile apps built on your website
MobiLoud turns your website into a full-featured iOS and Android app that carries over everything your site does and gives a native feel above and beyond what you get with a basic wrapper.

Website to app
Your website already does 90% of what an app needs to do. Starting from scratch means starting over and rebuilding all of that, which shouldn’t be necessary.

What an app adds
MobiLoud builds that part on top of the website you already have.
Wrapper apps explained
A wrapper app shows your live website inside an iOS and Android app. Your pages load in a WebView, the same engine Safari and Chrome use, so your site works in the app just as it does in a browser. People download the app from the App Store and Google Play, like any other.
Every page, product and tool, running as it does today.
The same engine Safari and Chrome use, inside the app.
With its own icon, launch screen and navigation.
From the App Store and Google Play, like any other app.
A “wrapper” can be anything from a cheap DIY website-to-app tool to a framework like Capacitor to a managed service like MobiLoud. Some of the most successful apps work this way too. Amazon’s shopping app loads product pages, reviews and promotions from its website in web views.
How MobiLoud works
A basic wrapper puts your website in a box, and all people get is your website with the browser bar taken away. MobiLoud keeps everything that works on your site and extends it with a native layer: the navigation, gestures and features that make it feel like any other app built for the phone.
Your website in a box
Your website, extended with a native layer
A native tab bar, header and menus, designed around your brand, take the place of your web navigation.
The back button and swipe gestures move back through your pages the way people expect, instead of closing the app.
Links in your push notifications, emails and ads open the right page in the app.
We adjust your pages for the app, so the web headers, footers and pop-ups made for the browser stay out.
You can build pages and offers through your website, and configure them to only show up in the app.
Your app sends real, native push notifications, just like every other mobile app does.
Apps we’ve built
These are a few of the brands that build their apps with MobiLoud: getting polished, full-featured apps powered by their existing website.
The service
MobiLoud is a managed service, so you get a team as well as the technology. We build your app, get it into the stores and look after it for as long as you have it, and we work with you to grow it after launch.
Our team designs the native layer for your app, builds and tests the app, and submits it to the App Store and Google Play under your own developer accounts.
We update your app for new iOS and Android releases and store policy changes, and all the other technical bits and pieces that come with running a revenue-generating mobile app.
Launch is the start. We work with you afterwards, helping you set up push notifications, plus guidance on marketing and growing your app.
Your options
There are different ways to turn your website into an app. A small blog needs a different approach from an enterprise ecommerce brand.
Wrapper app myths
Most of what you’ve heard about wrapper apps is wrong, or outdated. Modern web-based apps are more than good enough to deliver the app experience you want.
“Apple rejects wrapper apps.”
Apple turns down apps that only repackage a website - not any web-based app. MobiLoud has had over 2,000 apps successfully published to the App Stores with a web-first approach.
“Wrapper apps are slow.”
An app is as fast as the website it loads. MobiLoud apps use the same engines as Safari and Chrome, so if your site is smooth and loads fast, so does the app.
“Wrapper apps have a bad user experience.”
Customers don’t care how an app was built, whether it’s “native” or not. A wrapper app can look and feel like any other app on their phone.
“It’s a wrapper, not a real app.”
It installs on your customers’ phones and goes in the App Store and Google Play like any other app. Web-based apps are as real as any other architecture.
“You can’t build a serious app with a wrapper.”
Amazon’s shopping app uses web views to load parts of its website, similar to MobiLoud’s approach. Apps that make millions in revenue are built this way.
The benefits
Website-based apps are not just a viable option, in many cases, they’re the best option. Everything you need from an app, without the overhead.

Your checkout, accounts, loyalty program, quizzes and every other tool on your site work in the app at launch, without needing to be rebuilt.
Push new products, pages and design changes to your site and have them go live in your app at the same time, with no duplicate work.
You manage one codebase: your website. Your web team manages everything, with no new hires needed.
Get a head start on development, because you’re starting from what already works - not from scratch.
No siloed data or bloated tech stacks. See and manage everything in one place.
You’ll massively cut down the cost to launch and maintain your app, with minimal loss in quality.

Book a callA wrapper app is a mobile app that shows a website inside a native app, using the same WebView technology that powers Safari and Chrome. A basic wrapper does little more than that. MobiLoud builds a full native layer around your site, with native navigation, push notifications, deep links and your brand’s design, and our team publishes and maintains the app for you.
Your pages load in a WebView, the same way they load in a mobile browser, which is why everything on your site works in the app. Around them is a native layer: the navigation, tab bar, back button handling, deep links, push notifications and welcome screens. We also tweak your pages for the app and can add app-only pages, and we keep the native layer up to date as Apple and Google release changes.
Apple’s guideline 4.2 rejects apps that only repackage a website, which is why a basic wrapper can get turned down. MobiLoud apps include native navigation, push notifications, persistent login and other native features, and our team handles the submission and any questions from reviewers. We’ve published more than 2,000 apps since 2013.
A wrapper app is as fast as the website it runs on. The app uses the same rendering engines as Safari and Chrome, and MobiLoud’s native layer doesn’t add noticeable lag, so if your site is fast on mobile, your app will be too. Heavy animation and complex gestures are where a fully custom app still has the edge.
Rarely. People judge an app by how it looks and how easy it is to use, and a well-built wrapper app looks and works like the other apps on their phone. The apps we’ve built for John Varvatos, Tadashi Shoji and Riot Fest are all rated 4.8 stars or higher on the App Store.
When the core of your product needs something a website can’t do, like augmented reality, heavy use of the phone’s sensors or working fully offline. The app loads your pages over the internet, just as your website does, so an app that has to work without a connection is better built natively. If your business already runs on your website, a wrapper app is usually the better fit.
Low-cost DIY wrapper tools load your site into an app template for you to set up, submit and maintain yourself, and they add little beyond the frame. MobiLoud is a managed service. Our team builds a native app around your site, with native navigation, back button handling, deep links and push notifications, publishes it under your developer accounts, and handles every update, fix and store policy change after launch.
Capacitor and Cordova are open-source frameworks for building a hybrid app yourself. They work well if you have a mobile team to build the app and keep it running. MobiLoud gives you the finished app instead: our own native platform, plus the team that builds it, gets it approved and maintains it.
A MobiLoud app is as secure as the website it runs on. It loads your pages over HTTPS, as a browser does, and your customers’ accounts and orders stay in the systems that already hold them. MobiLoud doesn’t store your customers’ data, the app follows your site’s GDPR and CCPA setup, and we handle the privacy details Apple and Google require. A data processing agreement is available.
Usually not. If your site works well on mobile, it’s ready. We often make small changes for the app, such as hiding your web header and footer or moving a sticky button, and your web team can build app-only pages and offers with the tools they already use.
Your app changes with it. New products, pages, content and design updates appear in the app as soon as you publish them, with no app update needed. App updates are only needed for changes to the native layer, and we handle those.
Yes. We build your new app on your website, and in most cases we publish it as an update to your existing App Store and Google Play listings, so your ratings, reviews and users carry over.
The Business plan is $1,499 a month, or $1,274 a month billed annually, plus a one-time setup fee, and it includes up to 10,000 monthly active users. Enterprise is custom-priced. There’s no revenue share on your app sales.
You do. We publish your app under your own Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts, so the listings, reviews, users and data are yours. MobiLoud owns the platform that builds the app, and if you ever move on, your listings and users stay with you.
We’ll build a live, interactive preview of your app from your own website, so you can see it before you decide.
