The Hunting Lease is a Zillow-style app, allowing users to find available properties for hunting and fishing.
The Hunting Lease started as many mobile-first businesses do – with an expensive, hard-coded native app that required going through developers for every small change.
After switching to a Squarespace-based approach with MobiLoud, they've transformed into a scalable, multi-market platform that serves hunting and fishing properties across 20+ states with minimal operational overhead.

The Roadblock
Like many founders, Braxton Huggins initially thought he needed a fully custom native app built from scratch by specialized developers.
His first MVP was a hard-coded app, and it tied him down completely.
"I needed to go through my developer whenever I wanted to make changes or modifications to the app, which was a laborious process."
As a solo founder, without a large development team, this approach was both expensive and limiting.
His hunting property marketplace needed to be agile, constantly updating with new properties, seasonal changes, and market expansions. The native app approach made simple updates feel like major projects, severely limiting their ability to scale and compete effectively.
The solution was to switch to a web-based platform, using Squarespace. This made managing the platform significantly easier for Braxton, but required him to find a new solution for the mobile app.
Why They Chose MobiLoud
MobiLoud was the ideal partner for what Braxton wanted to do. We gave him an easy way to transform what he built on Squarespace to a native experience, and full support with all the tertiary elements of launching and running an app.
“Me being a solo founder, I needed somebody that could provide that end-to-end kind of turn-key experience. Helping the app get set up, submitting it to the app stores, going through the process of getting it live.”
Other services Braxton looked at would just hand him a mobile app and leave the rest to him. He didn’t have the bandwidth for that.
That was ultimately the sealing factor for going with MobiLoud.
Launch & Results
MobiLoud helped Braxton relaunch the Hunting Lease App, which already had a significant number of downloads when he made the decision to re-do the app.
Less than a year after launching, they had more than triple the number of downloads.
Fast forward three years later, and the app (and the business) is going strong. The business' subscriptions are growing over 60% YoY, and they maintain a low churn rate, leading to an impressive $110 average LTV.
The app plays a big part in that, providing a more convenient way for subscribers to interact and consume content.
Push notifications have a core role in the app’s engagement and retention strategy, with a strong base of subscribers and a 24% click through rate, helping to reactivate many churned users.
Also notable is the ROI. By being able to build and iterate on Squarespace, Braxton keeps costs down, saving a large sum compared to what it would have cost for a native platform.
“I can go and spend $30, $40, $50 on a plugin that’s already built to be responsive. That same widget, created by a developer, would cost thousands to do. So the cost-benefit, I haven’t spent more than a couple of thousand dollars adding features to the application, where if I were to rebuild it natively it would be tens of thousands.”
Thanks to MobiLoud, he’s been able to build and expand his competitive advantage, and turn a simple idea into a profitable business.
The Takeaway
For solo founders and small teams, MobiLoud bridges the gap between needing a native mobile presence and having the resources for complex native development.
Braxton’s decision to operate his business through an easy, no-code web platform, while letting MobiLoud handle the mobile side, saved him tens of thousands at least.
It’s also provided the foundation for him to build a profitable, sustainable, subscription business.
